Design, photography, & communication
I use my background in communication and communication research, as well as experience as a designer and photographer to make information accessible and engaging to the audience(s).
I'm a former PhD student in political communication, with experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods. In my research as a grad student, I focused on local politics. Specifically, I looked at how algorithms and individuals' choices online shape their algorithmic identities (how companies like Facebook understand who we are) and how that shapes the amount and type(s) of political information people see online and how the affordances on different platforms (especially Facebook) shape the political information that gets produced.
I'm also a queer gender-rebel with ADHD, diagnosed March 2019. If you are or think you might be going through something similar, I'd love to talk. I don't have any of the answers, but I'm happy to talk because finding others struggling with the same thing has been transformative for me. |
